PRESIDENT ATTENDS CONFERENCE ON CAPE VERDE & EU PARTNERSHIP
Cape Verdean President Pedro Pires will participate in the conferences being organized by the Isidoro da Graça Institute of Higher Learning (IESIG) to debate the relationship between the European Union and Cape Verde. Pedro Pires will preside over the debates, which will feature seminars by former Portuguese president Mário Soares and scholar Adriano Moreira.
The conference will feature presentations on two different themes: “Higher learning, private initiative, democracy and development,” to be given by Moreira, and “Cape Verde and Europe at the crossroads of destiny: yesterday, today and tomorrow,” to be given by Soares.
President Pedro Pires will present a speech on the second theme as well during Mário Soares’ seminar tomorrow at 4:00 pm.
The opening session of the conferences will take place today at 6:00 pm at the Mindelo Cultural Center conference hall, on the island of São Vicente.
